We live in the best country in the world, at the expense of others of course.

But community centers are really cool. I went swimming today at the Milpitas Sports Center and I just wondered why they even open sites like this and why they have classes for people. Do they make money? Not really. It’s for the betterment of the community!

It’s a cool thing.

Should I Pursue A Career In The Medical Industry?

First of all, I would like to make it clear that I do not have what it takes to become a doctor. I’m a business major, and I nearly break down whenever I hear stories about severe illness, probably due to my girlfriend.

Today, however, I learned that there is such career as medical management. Yes, you need talented doctors to run a hospital, but you also need someone who could take care of all the financial stuff - such as management, and bookkeeping.

Besides, the demand for medical services will never decrease as long as the population keeps on increasing. I believe we can finally achieve a sustainable economy if the medical industry becomes more mainstream. I say this because Japan desperately needs more doctors. I believe we can take care of the increasing elderly population and put a halt to the declining birthrate, while increasing jobs at the same time. It’s brilliant!

It’s a really appealing career. I like making people happy, and if I can apply what I’m learning in college right now, then I strongly feel like I should make a go for it.

Humans Are Designed To Cause Issues

So apparently, our brain is designed to earn satisfaction from bragging.

That reminds me: the brain is also designed to be addicted to earning money. It is also designed to become a part of peer pressure, as well.

The brain is wired to cause problems in this world. Bragging may not be as bad, but the last two sure explain why the world is such a corrupt place.

If we weren’t designed to be addicted to making money, then maybe we wouldn’t have such an unfair distribution of wealth. We would’ve been okay with having equal pay. If all the officials of banks and huge corporations weren’t obsessed with making money, would they go so far as to exploit their workers, and cause smaller companies to run out of business?

Also, I believe we would have less social problems if peer pressure wasn’t such a huge deal. For example, wouldn’t there be less teenagers that succumb to substance abuse and sex? Wouldn’t there be less discrimination against race, gender, and sexuality?

Should we justify these behaviors simply because it’s “a part of human nature”? I don’t feel like it’s the right thing to do. Is it wrong to believe that we should be able to control all the negative aspects of us humans? Well, is it?
